On October 10th, 2020, celebrated as World Mental Health Day, Samatvam – The Mindfulness Centre at IIM Bodh Gaya launched its weekly mindfulness sessions “Bodhi Pravaah: A journey towards equanimity and state of flow”. “Bodhi” means enlightenment or consciousness, and “Pravaah” means the state of flow, and this is what mindfulness does; it helps us attain the state of flow.

The first activity of Bodhi Pravaah was the ‘Body Scan exercise’. Initially started as weekly online sessions, Bodhi Pravaah sessions are now held three days a week in a blended mode where different mindfulness-guided meditations and mindfulness activities are conducted. One of the sessions was taken by honourable Director ma’am, Dr Vinita Sahay, on December 13th, 2020, and the topic was “Guided meditation for the Best Possible Outcome.” On March 8th, 2021, the Bodhi Pravaah session by Samatvam was dedicated to celebrating International Women’s day where people at IIM Bodh Gaya shared their stories and, wrote gratitude and appreciation letters for the important women in their lives.
The activities conducted are based on themes that are intended to reduce stress and release suppressed emotions. Some of the themes of past events have been guided meditations to build emotional resilience, to express gratitude, to live in the present moment, etc.
