On March 8th 2021, IIM Bodh Gaya celebrated the International Women’s Day by organizing an intimate experience-sharing event. The event was organized by Samatvam, The Mindfulness Centre at IIM Bodh Gaya and was held in blended mode; students residing on campus joined in along with online participants. Team Samatvam made the event possible with active participation from students, faculties and staff who took the stage for sharing heart-warming stories and experiences dedicated to significant women in their lives. The event revolved around the prime theme of “Gratitude is an Attitude.” It started with Madam Director Dr Vinita Sahay’s addressal on what the day means in the modern era and how practicing gratitude daily ensures the flow of positive thoughts and emotions. This was followed by participants who shared their personal experiences and stories dedicated to the special women that they consider as their inspiration in their lives. Some students expressed their appreciation by performing songs or reciting self-written poetry. Apart from storytelling, in the extended activity Team Samatvam successfully facilitated the delivery of handwritten gratitude letters from students, faculties and staff to the special women, thus reviving the joy of writing and getting physical letters via “the old-style Indian post.” The event was full of emotions and colours. IIM Bodh Gaya continued to promote overall wellbeing and mindfulness on this special day by associating gratefulness with mental wellbeing. The institute’s vision is to develop socially responsible and mindful business leaders. Samatvam, the Mindfulness Centre at IIM Bodh Gaya took this opportunity to spread self-awareness and appreciation for others by promoting the act of expressing gratitude.
